Monthly Free Food Distributions
Nafasi on Centre hosts monthly free food distributions in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, providing thousands of pounds of food to Hill District residents on a consistent schedule. Distributions take place every second Friday of the month starting at 11:00 am and are held on site at Nafasi, making food access part of the regular rhythm of activity at the space.
Each distribution includes a mix of fresh produce, meats, and dairy alongside shelf-stable items. On a typical distribution day, the program serves more than 200 families, reflecting both the scale of need and the importance of maintaining a reliable, recurring presence rather than an occasional offering.
The distributions rely on volunteers from partner organizations, community leaders, and neighborhood residents who assist with setup and distribution each month.
